It will then focus on providing you with a sound understanding of the legal principles that concern the operation of the commercial art world, and the ability to engage in critical analysis and evaluation of contemporary issues in art and law. This module will provide students with the underlying theoretical framework for exploring a range of perspectives on the concepts of race, religion, gender and sexuality, and their intersections, including with other social relations. In doing so, the module will serve as a forum for discussion, folderaccess.com debate, asking questions, and considering diverse perspectives on the concepts being studied, including relating them to specific case studies. The plan will provide an opportunity for students to critically engage with, and reflect upon, substantive feedback. This will be further supported by an oral assessment, in the form of an in-class presentation on a contemporary case study. This module helps students to navigate this shifting constitutional terrain and grapple with the key legal and political challenges it poses.

After the Treaties of Amsterdam, Nice and Lisbon, the impact of EU law has expanded even further than before. This module examines the development of European Law, the institutional structure and processes as well as the relationship between European Law and national law. Medical Law – The practical importance and the complexity of medical issues requires that those who have an interest in medicine and health care and practice have a detailed understanding of the basic principles of medical law. Legal, professional and technological developments, and the increasing role of the law in health care issues, have expanded the subject matter of this area and medical law is now regarded as a subject worthy of study in its own right. The module explores the substantive legal rules relating to all aspects of medicine and health care including resource allocation, capacity, medical negligence, confidentiality, organ donation, abortion, reproductive medicine and assisted dying. Law of Evidence – The module situates discussion of the law of evidence in the context of the UK’s incorporation of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Holders of a Bachelors degree may be considered for entry to a postgraduate degree programme. Holders of a bachelor degree with honours from a recognised Canadian university may be considered for entry to a postgraduate degree programme. You will be taught by highly qualified, experienced and enthusiastic academics, who research and write about the law and are experts in their particular specialisms. Some of the team are both academics and practitioners and others are involved in international projects training judges and lawyers in European Union law.

The module also introduces students to some central areas within the market integration process as well as contemporary issues such as the legal ramifications of BREXIT. Programme Specification

Along the way you will also explore the origins and the end of the Cold War, decolonisation and the End of Empire, the rise of international institutions, humanitarian intervention and new security issues. This MA provides students with key analytical skills to study the ethical dimensions of public policy. The programme, drawing on three areas of excellence at UCL, is a unique mix of politics, law and philosophy, centred on the normative evaluation of public policy at both the domestic and international levels.
